Each year the corporate members, the dues-paying SkillsUSA advisors, at the annual Arizona ACTE conference, elect 2 or more regional representatives. A regional board member represents advisors in each of six regions (one Board member per region). Additionally, the Post-Secondary Board Member and the Technology Division Board Member represent college Advisors and middle school Advisors respectively. The Bylaws are located in the menu to the left.

According to the Corporate Bylaws, Article IV, Section 8, the election cycle is as follows:

YEAR 1 (July ’08):   Region 1, 2 and Technology Board members will be elected in the same year
YEAR 2 (July ‘09): Region 3, 4 and Post Secondary will be elected in the same year
YEAR 3 (July ‘10): Region 5 and 6 will be elected in the same year

 A member of the Arizona VICA Youth Development Foundation, Inc. (dba SkillsUSA) Board of Directors, serves for three years.
 
► The Board Members at the first meeting following the annual corporate meeting will elect the officers of the Board each year. 
 
► There are 5 regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Directors: September, November (at Officer Training Camp), January, March/April and July.  The President of the Board may schedule additional meetings.  Schedule for the up-coming school year to be determined at September meeting.
 
► Meetings are held at sites hosted by current Board Members and/or planned by the state office.  Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the Board Member.
 
► Administration support for a candidate for a Board position is critical. 
 
► Obtain support from an advisor within your school.
 
► Obtain support from an advisor from a local school in your respective region.

  I agree to serve my term to the best of my ability, attempt to participate in all Arizona SkillsUSA Board of Directors events and meetings, and understand that if I miss 2 consecutive meetings, with no notice (to the Board of Directors President, State Director or SkillsUSA staff), I will be required to resign my position.
