Contest information

  • Every Building Trades, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical Wiring, and Masonry instructors need to contact David Severn (, 307-760-3634) to talk about their role in the competition. Help will be needed in getting materials and prizes for all the contests.

  • 10:00 am would be a good time for parents that want to come and watch. Projects will be underway at that time.

  • We cannot come up with missing materials or tools/safety glasses the day of the contest, so make sure the material lists have been read. Remember the students need to have a work boots this year.

  • David Severn should be contacted by Wednesday Feb.19th after 2:30 pm as to receive any updates about expectations and see if any students may not be coming now for whatever reason. Please do not call before that time, as there is ACT Testing that day.

  • Remember we will be holding an Advisory Building Trades meeting during lunch so bring any paperwork that needs to be signed by advisors if you wish. Minutes will be sent out the following week.

  • Emily Bird (Peoria HS Media student) will be taking pictures with her photo team during the competition. Last year if you wanted photos of the entire contest you gave her your business card and she sent all the photos to you. One of those cloud contact things. Bring your contact information and the contact information you may want photos sent to.

  • One of the things we need help with is setting up a “Hospitality Area” for the judges and advisors. Oscar Olivas is setting up a couple of tables, but we need everyone to see if they can get donations of coffee, bagels, muffins, etc.

  • We need one of our advisors to  pick up our lunch order so we can have lunch at 11: 00 am. Any volunteers?

  • Remember our electrical power is limited so use battery power tools if you have them. We have several generators coming.

  • Bring clip boards for your students to take their test on.

  • Each school if possible bring a table for displays.
