SkillsUSA offers advanced training for students and advisors that focuses on professionalism, communication, and leadership skills. This training is held in Washington, D.C. and allows its members the opportunity to share their SkillsUSA and career and technical education experiences with elected officials.

Advisor Sessions
Like students, advisors will have opportunities to learn how to be change agents for career and technical education. Sessions for advisors will inspire advisors to lead the change process in their schools and districts, develop strategies to gain support for education issues, motivate supporters and learn from those who take risks.

Pre-Conference Work and National Statesman Award Information
This year, all pre-conference and Statesman Award work will be through Absorb.  Once you register, you will be enrolled in the appropriate Absorb modules (note that the national office will enroll registrants every Friday, starting August 13).  There is more information in the Conference Guide, starting on page 10, so please read carefully.
 

Congressional Visits

A highlight of WLTI is when students get the opportunity to visit with elected officials!

Conference Attire

Please consult the Conference Guide, page 3 for daily wear.  Note that official dress is required:  Microsoft Word - ClothingClassifications 2020 (see page 2 for Official Dress guidelines).  This is a professional conference and the expectation is that you will dress according to the Conference Guide.
